2016 was full of wonderful moments for Oceania Cruises. We announced our inaugural voyages to Cuba, released our Culinary Center Favorites Recipe Collection, and christened the beautiful Sirena in Barcelona. As we look forward to a prosperous and happy New Year, we asked some of our Oceania Cruises family to share their New Year’s resolutions. Read on to find out what the Oceania Cruises team has planned for the New Year.
President & CEO Bob Binder:
In the New Year, I am resolving to not have any desserts on Mondays, Wednesdays or Friday. (Except when I am on a cruise.) (Also, banana bread does not count as a dessert because it is a fruit.) (And chocolate zucchini muffins are a vegetable.)
General Manager Thierry Tholon:
The only resolution is to keep challenging and motivating myself to maintain balance in my life. I want to continue providing the best service and experience for our guests, manage each team to reach their fullest potential, and still have enough time to pump serious iron! Finding balance is the best resolution of all.
Senior Executive Chef Alban Gjoka:
My 2017 New Year’s resolution is simple: to achieve what was not achieved in prior years – to be less addicted to food! Unfortunately, l work in The Finest Cuisine at Sea™ so it is difficult to resist, which is why l have failed in achieving this goal for the past 8 years!
Regarding my team, my the resolution is to continue being an effective leader in coaching. Chefs are, or should be, the teachers of food. Be the living example of a food and beverage encyclopedia. Research, read, interact, partner, experiment and then pass on what you know to others. This is how great teams are formed and exceptional teams and restaurants are built.
